The Desire Company Commits to Pro Community Diversity Goals

Inclusion is How We Unleash the Power of Diversity

At The Desire Company, our commitment to inclusion across race, gender, age, religion, identity, and experience drives us forward every day. Our focus on diversity and inclusion in our Pro Community fosters an environment that embraces various perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences, allowing us to deliver richer and more impactful results in every area of operation. Our strategic approach focuses on FOUR (4) main areas that not only elevate our community but also serve as a beacon for other organizations, including our brand partners, demonstrating the potential for growth and innovation that arises from embracing diversity. In turn, we know this strengthens trust in our brand and showcases the transformative impact that inclusivity can have on the business landscape in general.

Diversity Goals

  • Establish quantifiable objectives for enhancing diversity within the Pro Community

  • Adopt intentionally equitable and inclusive opportunity recommendation practices

Commitments:

  1. Increase the representation of BIPOC members in the Pro Community to 60% by 2025.

    • Goal to reach 45% by the end of 2023, reflecting a 5% raise from our current status.

    • Boost the proportion of BIPOC Pro Community referrals by 15% year over year.

    • Commit to adding at least 50% BIPOC individuals to the Pro Community through recruitment efforts on an annual basis.

    • Organize or participate in a minimum of three (3) diversity and inclusion-centered events or activities annually.

    • Collaborate with a minimum of two (2) organizations each year that advocate for diversity and inclusion in industries relevant to The Desire Company.

    • Broaden community recruitment strategies and enhance outreach initiatives

  2. Guarantee fair access to opportunities for BIPOC professionals

    • Goal by end of 2023 - 40% of Pro Community members presented for opportunities are BIPOC professionals - where possible considering underrepresented industries

    • Create procedures and tools, such as Pro Personas/Blind Recommendation Systems, to mitigate potential implicit bias among our brand partners during the Pro selection process.

    • Communicate our dedication to diversity proactively and transparently with prospective clients and brand partners.

  3. Promote equitable compensation for BIPOC professionals

    • Ensure that pay rates within the community are solely based on professional experience and merit, eliminating disparities arising from unrelated factors.

  4. Use our platforms and reach to amplify the voices of our BIPOC pros

    • Embrace and promote the diversity of our Pro Community throughout the year.

    • Publish a minimum of three (3) blog posts annually that showcase the experiences and perspectives of BIPOC members within the Pro Community.

    • Ensure that 50% of our Pro Spotlight features in the Monthly Newsletter highlight BIPOC Pro Community members.

    • Implement an annual survey to obtain insights from BIPOC members regarding their experiences and recommendations for growth, aiming for a 90% satisfaction score.

We can't do this alone.

It takes partnerships to drive real positive change. We will continue to explore how we can collaborate with brands and retailers to create opportunities for our BIPOC Pros. Our community offers valuable collaboration opportunities, and we believe that working together can create impactful and meaningful content that drives real business results.
