If you love full body workouts and strength training, you might also love Olympic weightlifting. Luckily, we have the basics to get you started. In this class, strength coach and Olympic weightlifter Jessica Taylor teaches you everything a beginner should know about the sport, from the tools you'll need to the proper technique each lift requires. If the word "Olympic" makes you nervous, don't worry. You don't need to have the strength of a seasoned athlete to participate. Olympic weightlifting or Olympic-style weightlifting is actually its own sport that incorporates two lifts, the "clean and jerk" and the "snatch," that require maximum strength and speed. Practice makes perfect and getting started is easier than you think. For an intro to Olympic Weightlifting, check out Jessica Taylor's class above.
